At Dance Social, we want every student to feel confident, supported, and clear about their dance journey.
That is why our classes are organised into levels. Each level has its own structure, learning goals, curriculum, and assessment process. This helps students progress step by step — without stress, pressure, or confusion.

How Students Move to the Next Level
Students usually start from A1. After each level, they may be invited to an Assessment Class, where teachers check if they are ready for the next level.
After the assessment, the student will either:
- move to the next level, or
- continue practising at the current level a little longer.
Both options are completely normal. Everyone learns at their own pace.
Curriculum & Progress Tracking
Each level has a curriculum — a planned list of techniques, movements, and combinations that students should learn.
Students can see their progress in their personal profile in the Check-in App:
- current level,
- curriculum topics for that level,
- completed topics,
- topics still to practise.
Completed topics are marked in green.
At the moment, the curriculum is available from A1 to B2. We are currently working on the curriculum for C and D levels.
When Are You Ready for Assessment?
To be invited to an Assessment Class, students need to meet two main criteria:
1. Attendance
Each level has a minimum number of classes that should be attended before assessment.
2. Curriculum Progress
Students should complete around 90–95% of the curriculum topics for their current level.
In practice, this means that most topics in the app should be marked in green.
Assessment Classes
Starting from August 2026, Assessment Classes will be organised approximately once per month as separate lessons.
Students who meet the criteria will be invited to join.
Upcoming Assessment Classes will be visible:
- in the website schedule,
- and in the Check-in App.
Assessment Classes usually last around 45–60 minutes, depending on the number of students.
What Happens During Assessment? 🌟
The Assessment Class feels very similar to a normal group lesson.
Teachers will usually teach a combination that includes the main elements from your current level. You will practise it with counts, music, partner rotation, and teacher guidance.
The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed — this is not an exam in a strict way. It is a chance for teachers to see your progress and give you the right recommendation.
Teachers may also dance with students personally to better feel their timing, connection, leading/following, and overall level.
After the Assessment 💬
After the class, each student will receive an SMS with the result.
The message will let you know whether you have moved to the next level or whether we recommend staying at your current level for a bit more practice.
If you do not move forward immediately, it does not mean that you failed. It simply means that more practice will help you feel stronger and more confident.
Can I Still Join Lower-Level Classes?
Yes.
When you move to the next level, you can still attend:
- your new level,
- your current level,
- and all levels below it.
For example, many students attend Improver B1 while also joining Beginner A3 to repeat and strengthen their basics.
Missing Some Topics?
If you are missing some curriculum topics, you can continue attending regular group classes until they are completed.
You can also book a private lesson with a teacher to go through the missing topics and prepare for assessment faster.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help every student progress safely, clearly, and confidently.
The level system helps us keep groups balanced, make progress easier to understand, and give every student a clear path forward.
Step by step, class by class — you will see your progress. ✨
